1. Scope of this policy and who we are

This policy explains how Rashf – Water Reminder (the “App”) handles information. The App is owned and developed by Ahmed Almehairbi, an individual developer in the United Arab Emirates.

2. Information stored on your device

The App uses storage on your device to provide its features. Local data may include:

• Hydration entries: the amount, date, and beverage type for each entry.
• Onboarding information and goals: your exact weight, hydration goal, intake range, activity level, and heat exposure.
• Schedules and reminders: wake time, sleep time, reminder interval, and your choice to enable or disable reminders. iOS manages the notification permission itself.
• Customizations: cup amount, recently used amounts, onboarding choices, App preferences, and saved custom animations.
• Paid-feature status: subscription-entitlement status cached on the device.

Hydration entries are stored locally using SwiftData. App settings and preferences are stored locally using UserDefaults. We do not transmit this information to a server owned or operated by the developer. Limited usage events are sent to our analytics provider as described in section 6.

3. How the App uses information

Local data is used to log what you drink, show your history and progress, calculate and display hydration goals and related intake ranges, personalize amounts and appearance, remember your choices, and schedule the reminders you request. This processing takes place on your device.

4. Local notifications

If you allow notifications and enable reminders, the App asks iOS to schedule local notifications on your device based on your schedule. The developer does not send remote push notifications and does not receive your notification content or history. You can change permission in iOS Settings and adjust reminders in the App.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. The developer does not receive your card number or full payment details. The App checks transaction and entitlement information provided by Apple and caches entitlement status locally to unlock the appropriate features. Apple’s processing is governed by its own policies and terms.

6. Product analytics (PostHog)

To understand how the App is used and to improve it, the App sends pseudonymous product-analytics events to PostHog (an analytics provider) on its United States cloud. These events are not linked to your name or email (there is no account); they are linked to a random identifier created when the App is installed, and we do not build a profile that identifies you.

These events include:

• App activity: app opens, screens viewed, logging a drink (its type, amount, and how it was logged), reaching the daily goal, reminder interactions, and settings changes such as language and measurement units.
• Onboarding: step progress and your answers, such as weight, the calculated goal, activity level, heat exposure, and current intake range.
• Subscription: paywall views, purchase and restore events, and the selected plan, with no payment details.
• Standard technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, device language, and an approximate location (city and country) that the provider derives from the IP address. The App does not access your device's location services (GPS).

We do not use this data for advertising and do not sell it. It is used only to evaluate features, measure usage, and improve the App.

7. Services and data the App does not use

In the current version:

• There is no user account, sign-in system, or developer-operated backend server.
• There are no advertisements, we do not sell your information, and we do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps.
• The App does not access HealthKit or Apple Health data.
• The App does not access your device's location services (GPS) or camera. The only approximate location is the one derived from the IP address for analytics, as described in section 6.
• The App does not operate cloud synchronization or iCloud/CloudKit synchronization for your data.

8. Backups and Apple services

Although the App does not operate cloud synchronization, your device backup may include App data depending on your device’s backup and iCloud settings. If so, Apple processes the backup according to your settings and Apple’s policies. The developer cannot access your device backups.

9. Sharing information

We do not sell your data, and the App does not send your data to advertising companies. The analytics events described in section 6 are processed for us by PostHog. Apple may process information needed to operate the App Store, subscriptions, notifications, device services, and backups you choose. If you contact us, information you voluntarily send will be processed through the email provider. We may disclose information where required by law.

10. Retention and deletion

Local App data stays on your device until you undo the most recent entry using the in-App undo control or delete the App to remove all of its local data. Restarting onboarding does not delete hydration history. A copy may remain in a device backup until you delete it or the backup system replaces it according to your Apple settings.

Analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to 7 years (84 months) under the project's data-retention setting.

Because the developer has no account or server containing your in-App data, the developer cannot access or delete the data on your device for you.

11. Support communications

If you email us for support, we may receive your email address and information you choose to include, such as a problem description or screenshots. We use it to reply and provide support. We may retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request, keep reasonable records, protect the service, or meet legal obligations.

12. Security

The App relies on protections provided by iOS and local device storage. No method of storage is completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode and keep your Apple Account and backup settings secure.

13. Your rights and choices

You can view your hydration history, change settings, undo the most recent entry, manage notifications in the App or iOS Settings, and delete the App to remove all of its local data. You can also ask us to delete the analytics events associated with your device's random identifier by contacting us. 14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the App’s features or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
